Los Molinos Citizens and Businesses. The Chamber received the following letter from Caltrans regarding construction in our area. Dear Business Community: Some of you may have already seen activities related to construction on SR99 through Los Molinos. Caltrans surveyors and other personnel are preparing for another construction phase of the multimodal project that has been improving the area and we are proud to continue working on it. This spring, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2/North Region Construction) and Tullis Incorporated will begin construction from Josephine Street to Tehama/Vina Road. Construction crews will be working as follows:  Rehabilitate existing highway section and provide paved shoulder.  Continue building ADA curb ramps and crosswalk sections.  Improve traffic operations and off-shoulder vehicle parking.  Improve drainage systems.  Continue building bike lanes.  Install decorative street lighting and landscaping. The Los Molinos Project will extend pavement life, increase roadway safety and rideability, comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and enhance sustainability. Overall, the project will improve traffic and multimodal forms of transportation (driving, bicycling and walking) in the town of Los Molinos, which will also have a positive impact in surrounding communities. Construction is anticipated to begin on April 1st and to be completed by the end of August 2020. However, you may see activity a few days before. We expect minimal traffic delays and disruption. If you run into any problem or have concerns, please contact our Public Information Officer Lupita Franco via email at Maria.Franco@dot.ca.gov or by calling at (530) 604-4817. Feel free to ask to be included in our email list for this project. We thank you in advance for working with us to improve Los Molinos!
